Landed in Berlin.
I wont pretend to figure this place out in one day. Obviously, this place carries a lot of baggage behind it, you can feel it walking the streets here.
Berlin Automn… Let me tell you, there is nothing ‘automny’ about it for me… This is winter and winter with a bite. Grey, tinkeling rain all the time and muddy shoes that go along with brown stained ‘boca de calca’. I usualy dont like this kind of weather, but this place is hypnotic. The harsh, strict german languege, the perfectly designed faces, the shicky fashion and art and the old factories from the war. I have to know more. Much more.
After 8 hours in the studio, meeting the other guys and gals (we are 5) working the project, I was taken to my apartment by the production manager. What a nice surprise…
A beatifull two bedroom aparment right in the center, coozy and warm, with fast internet access and a fully equipped kitchen. I am set. Spending here the next 40 days will be a pleasure.
I intend to explore the city, take interesting workshops and classes and see lots of shows. (from any kind!)
My training will be squeezed into the daily 8 hours movement research we are doing, and another 1-3 hours session in the end of the day. (9-11 hours of movement with 2 30 min breaks in the middle?? I guess so..)
Tomorrow early, we start again, I’ll take some pictures of our amazing, completely new studio and maybe some movement clips. Stay tuned and communicate with me.
BTW, my new websites – www.idoportal.com and www.floreioart.com are comming closer and closer to some finish line.. You can already see the new design and features, but most of them are not functional yet. My good friend and amazing graphic designer Oren Vermus is responsible for the simple, clean and beautifull design, my other good childhood friend Timor (Troi Designs) is responsible for the programming. Thanks, guys, no way I could have done it without your endless help.
Ido.

I am intrigued by your description of the atmosphere palpable in the streets, especially as I am descended from German Jews. I wonder how distant the events of 70 odd years ago seem when they are so intrusive, with physical reminders so visible. I am looking forward to reading more of your posts.
Joshua
Hi Ido,
let me welcome you to Germany first. Sadly you've picked a rather unpleasant season for it. But let me assure you: Autumn in Germany can also be very beautiful. Try travelling to the countryside once with the trees having all kinds of different colored leaves.
About your work: Is this something thats going to be on stage sometime in the near future.
I had to laugh a little bit as you (correctly) called German a harsh language because I think about learning some Hebrew and man, this is some crazy harsh sounding language
Take care
Kai
I only saw Hamburg i'm curious to hear how you describe Berlin.
Have a nice trip
Any idea if you'll be travelling through Europe any time soon following this tour ? Would you be available for any consultations/training sessions ?
Keep up the great blog!
David

I was wondering what happened, no posts for a while. This sounds very interesting. I'm looking forward to your posts over the next couple of months
Joshua, of course, a sense of the terrible history here sorounds me here. It intrigues me. I am always fascinated with those dark places. How can people from the height of cultural development can become animals?
Kai,
you are right, my friend! I guess it is a question of habit.
I can already see the great beauty of Berlin, I am not blinded by the cold weather nor am I made out of sugar…
Thanks for the warm welcome.
David, I will be giving a couple of workshops in Germany, they are being put together as we speak.
Also I have a couple of offers in france, and will be doing that while I am there.
If you want to discuss other possibilities in Belgium, email me directly at portal.ido@gmail.com
Ido.
I've been missing your workouts, Ido! However, I've been following the July/August series and have been enjoying the previous workouts very much. Thanks for writing about Berlin. I am very curious about the movement workshop. It sounds amazing!!!
Just saw your blog, for the first time, today. A friend from the gym (we're CrossFitters) has been telling me about your blog, after my questions about exercises I see him working on. Great stuff, here. I'm excited to learn more. I'll let you know when I get my first handstand push up.
Thanks for making this information available!
Ramman and I want to know what the hell you are doing! When are you coming to the US?! We miss your workouts but of course we are developing our own:) NEED MORE INFO ABOUT IDO.
Hugs to you in cold-ass Germany:)
~Laney
Fumaca, thanks for the kind words, soon new material will be available through my new website http://www.floreioart.com
Leslie,
good luck with your training, I am glad I can help with a bit of a fresh air between all those Frans and Morphs..
Laney,
I will be there at Feb 10' hopefuly… Thats not far away.
I would love to tell you what I am doing here, once I figure it out myself…. I am working in a new project by a physical creator of some fringy artistic show. I am also teaching workshops and courses and will continue from here to another period of time in France to train with Equilibre master Claude Victoria.
I miss you guys, havent you gone to south/central America in the end?
Warm hugs,
Ido.
Wow, exciting stuff! We should be around when you are here, don't know exactly where.. Lots of planning for opening our own studio (NOT a CrossFit).. Good luck with all of your training, performing, workshops and traveling! Let us know more when you can:)
If we go to Central America, we will be back!
Stay warm and healthy,
Laney
Laney, thats great!
I hope to see you when I am there.
What type of studio are you opening? any Floreio work integrated in there??? *hint*
Good luck, big hugs to you and Ramman.
Did I read right that you are coming to the US in Feb 10? If you are going to be anywhere in the DC or NorthEast area I will definitely try to attend whatever you put on.
Of course there will be floreio, capoeira, breakdancing, parkour, moving and playing!
Hope to see you soon~ Hugs back:)
~Laney
As a former crossfitter myself, I am curious to know why you specified the NOT crossfit part. Just curious.
Haha.. Well, there are things about CrossFit that I think are valuable, but there are some things about it that I don't like.. I am learning many more forms of movement (like floreio) that are better for my body and mind (and spirit!) than CrossFit by itself. Plus we want our place to be one of a kind;) I still enjoy some tough metcons here and there, but only as it's appropriate for my training.
~L
I agree. I enjoyed it while I did it and it expanded my idea of fitness but I have since moved on. I still engage in a lot of variety including metcons, but the strict adherence is no longer for me.
Hi ido
how cool of a place, please have lots of fun, sounds so interesting.
i been getting all kinda of entertainment work latly, and it seem that it would be hard for me to come to france, always keeping you in mind though, been making some good connections, maybe we could pull some strings to get you here…
Hi Ido,
welcome to Berlin! Hope you have a great time here. What part of Berlin are you staying in?
You picked a good time to be in Berlin. Everybody's going crazy because of the wall. The weather sucks though.
